Based in the beautiful countryside of the English Cotswolds, with their home apiary in an old fruit orchard, Apples & Pears Apiaries is a small beekeeping business dedicated to making the very best handmade, natural skincare products from the oldest beauty treatments in history - beeswax and honey. Since much of what you put on your skin is absorbed directly into your bloodstream, they only use ingredients that mix well with the rest of you. This means that absolutely everything that goes into their products is literally good enough to eat. They use absolutely no petroleum-based products, no parabens, no synthetic dyes, no flavourings and no artificial fragrances whatsoever. As beekeepers, they also ensure that only the best honey and beeswax are used in their products. They use first quality 'cappings' wax (the thin wax capping which seals the honey into the honeycomb). The wax is slowly warmed and filtered, so as not to destroy its many beneficial properties, and then carefully blended with healing honey, organic cold-pressed plant oils, butters, waxes and extracts. Their lip balms are not just ‘lip balms’ they are very special lip treatments, and whilst we think that lip balms are reserved for the winter – think again! These lip balms are perfect after sun exposure, after swimming, after skiing and after a days hard work! They really do have to be used to believe their benefits!
Tui Balmes - is a company based in New Zealand although their distributor is based in Somerset, England. The Tui Balmes are all hand made in the Abel Tasman National Park, South Island, New Zealand by the Tui Community. This community was set up nearly 20 years ago and natural alternatives have been taught over this time to produce a natural healthcare range that is gently effective. These balmes, although readily available in New Zealand, are harder to find in the UK and I was very keen to get the company on board Perfectly Pure Skincare. The products are totally different from any others on this website, and are highly effective. They are not creams, but balmes, and provide a different sort of support for your skin.
Mother Earth - is a wonderful company based in Grassmere, Cumbria, England. Jane Holroyd, the founder of Mother Earth, set up the company 4 years ago, in order to offer people a natural alternative to the chemical equivalents that were in the shops. Mother Earth make products with no artificial chemicals at all; no mineral oils, no synthetic fragrances or colours and definitely no animal products. Using their years of experience as natural healers, they use the finest ingredients, essential oils, herbs and flower essences, carefully chosen for their therapeutic ability to heal the skin and the mind.
Soap of the Earth - the owners of Soap of the Earth, John and Yvonne Stevens, hand make all their products with absolute care and attention. They are based in Boston, Lincolnshire, England and supply many retail outlets throughout the UK and abroad. Their soaps are made using the cold process method and all of their products contain no synthetic chemicals. They make an enthusiastic team which I think comes across in their imaginative products.
Balm Balm is 100% Natural & Organic Skincare . They only have four products at present to choose from but believe that they have all your moisturising needs covered. Balm Balm products are multi functional so there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't use their Face Balms on your legs! All four products are so gentle that the Fragrance Free ones in particular are gentle enough to use even on new born babies. Balm Balm products are all made around a simple wax and oil formulation. All their ingredients are 100% natural and 100% organic. ‘Natural' makes them easily absorbed by the skin and ‘organic' makes them safe to be absorbed. Balm Balm provides a wonderful, natural alternative to petroleum jelly products that is as kind to the environment as it is to you.
Simply Soaps is a leading specialist producer of natural soaps and skincare products. The company has grown exponentially since being founded in1997 with the help of a Prince's Trust grant and remains true then as it does today to sound ethical principles both in terms of commerce and product formulation. Their products are formulated in a wild wood in Norfolk using all natural ingredients, thus creating a unique energy and synergy within the product that cannot be achieved through manufacturing processes. Simply Soaps' products are very gentle and can be used for all skin types from the very dry, including eczema, to oily or problem skin.
The Green Housekeeper are a family owned and operated business - with nine of them in total. Their seven children range in age from 3 to 22 and all enjoy getting involved and being part of The Green Housekeeper. They are passionate about all things natural and this has translated into them creating the most wonderful range of 100% natural cleaning products. We are stocking their washing up liquid, which is fantastic and beats most of the well known brands both in terms of cleaning and amount needed; their nursery cleaner, which is revolutionary - at last a cleaner that isn't bad for our children's health; their kitchen cleaner which does exactly what a cleaner should do without the use of chemicals; and their essential housekeeper which is a brilliant all round multi surface cleaner that doesn't give you a headache! These products really are very special and we feel honoured to stock them. We think that they complement our skincare range, especially as it is thought that many skin complaints are triggered by the chemicals in cleaning products in the first place!
